Catching sight of her mirrored image in a reflective wall panel, Sandy stopped. There was a gooey string of cheese dangling from the corner of her mouth. Recognizing the taste of sauce and pepperoni on her breath she realized she had eaten the pizza slice compulsively without being conscious of the act. A further stomach rumble punctured this revelation.
Unfortunately, it was quite common at Gerbert Gerbil's for the kitchen workers to not get their own lunch breaks in the midst of serving scores of pizzas, cakes and other food. Sandy was having to cover a double shift, Jessica Getty was out with some sort of flu, so she was bereft of any quiet moment to find something for lunch.
Sandy put a had to her mouth with a mollified expression. After slurping up the last of the cheese, of course. How many other pizza slices had she unwittingly eaten over the course of the day? Not only was that unprofessional it was also unhealthy. It felt like working at Gerbert's had contributed to some recent weight gain.
Sandy looked herself over. Her apron and greased stained red uniform framed her plump curves. Most of the weight was concentrated in her belly, as thick as an industrial sack of flour. Her khaki pants were starting to feel a little snug, although there was still room in them. Her hips and backside had fattened to meet the width of her middle and by this point, Sandy's breasts could no longer be considered modest.
Still, who would want to be known as the cook scarfing down on other customer's pizzas? Catching sight of her reflection like that had given Sandy a moment's contemplation as she rushed back to the soda machine to get that grape soda. She could do with losing a bit of weight, At the very least, finding a way of eating healthier so she wasn't tempted to eat the customers' food while on the clock. She was a decent cook and could always bring lunches from home again.
