Lying in her chair, Quixee was munching on a small strawberry as she was beginning to wake up for the morning. Since her body was only a few inches in height, she usually considered a berry to be a good meal for the morning, and she needed to be well-fed, since today was going to be the first day of her study on Harpies for her village.
As she continued to eat, the little fairy continued to practice her human words, so that she could better understand the harpies. While most fairies preferred to just use their own language, Quixee wanted to be able to converse with the other races on the planet, so that she could better study their personalities and behaviors. Finishing the last of the strawberry, Quixee rubbed her stuffed belly, before beginning to fly north, to where she could finally reach the lands that the harpies call home.
"Ok, so this map says that they're halfway up this mountain, so it shouldn't be that hard to fly up there." While Quixee continued to fly upwards the mountain, in hopes that she would eventually reach the harpy village, she noticed that it was getting a lot colder than she was used to, probably due to the land around her starting to snow. Looking for the closest tree, Quixee used a leaf to make a makeshift cloak for herself, so that she could handle the colder climate for now.
Eventually, after hours of flying, Quixee could see a house, and as she flew by it she could see a fat harpy, gorging herself with meat, through the window. Knocking on the door, Quixee waited for the harpy to come before saying "Hey, excuse me, but I would like to ask if this is the harpy village that's on this mountain?"
"Huh? Oh wait there you are. Didn't expect to see a small little fairy this far north." As the harpy was talking, she continued to munch on a big roast pork, which she held by her hands. "Yeah, you are pretty close to that place, but you don't really wanna stay there during the night. I mean, I could barely notice you, and they may not notice you at all, or even accidentally crush you."
"But then where should I stay?" Quixee quickly asked. "If I stay out here for the night, I'll freeze to death!"
"Relax, you can stay here for the night. I'm pretty stocked up with food, so you should be okay for at least a single day of staying here. Name's Nicole."
"Really? Thanks for your generosity." As Nicole held open the door for Quixee to enter, the fairy could quickly smell that there was a large variety of foods littered all around the place, some of them on plate while others were just lying on the ground. While Quixee mostly didn't mind about ground food, she could tell that some of the foods littered around were beginning to form mold, which probably meant that it was spoiled.
Before she could look around anymore, Quixee was quickly interrupted by Nicole, who insisted that she try a bit of the food since she was going to be staying for now. Grabbing a meatball, Nicole quickly shoved a small part of the meat into the fairy's mouth, which at her size, was around as big as her mouth could hold. As she swallowed the meat, Quixee was overcome with a strong, and pleasant taste.
"Hey, this isn't half bad!" Quixee exclaimed, after taking another bite from the meatball that Nicole was feeding her.
"Yeah, I found and cooked all these meats that you see around you. Sometimes I eat them, and sometimes I let them rot on the floor to attract more meaty animals, like pigs or cows." The two continued to talk through the night, and as Quixee continued to gorge herself on meat, she thought that it was gonna be a good time to stay with this harpy while she studied them.
