An anthropomorphized animal--commonly referred to as a Furry as a general term, though to some it may be assumed they'd prefer their own species' name--walks and talks in a world that's a lot like our own, but probably a little different. It depends on who you ask or what you see when you look at them, regarding how these high-functioning animals look like. Anything from within the animal kingdom nearly sharing the silhouette of a human (with the likely addition of ears, snouts or beaks and a tail, or some combination of those or other features), all the way up to having distinctive animal features, every curve and angle retained from their feral counterparts retained as they manage tasks we execute, and just as easily. It could also be the case that you'd see one with large, expressive features and naturally bright colors with a nonsensical gait almost as if one walked right out of a cartoon.
