"Oh come on Evie, imagine if that thing really can switch people's heads around, think of the possibilities!" Jacob said to his twin sister as he followed her upstairs to her bedroom. "You just going to stick in a drawer and not use it?" He asked her, his voice dripping with disbelief.
"Well IF it can do that, it can cause trouble." Evie responded, stopping abruptly at the door to her bedroom and turning to face her brother. She always had been the responsible one of the twins, even though she was known to cut loose now and then. She was still trying to get over the fact they had found such a remote just lying in a hedgeway where it looked like someone had either dumped or hidden it. The remote was slightly worn, but didn't look that old. And it was currently in Evie's possession, since she thought her brother was too immature to be trusted with it.
"But think of the FUN factor too sis, we can mess with people without them being aware." Jacob persisted.
"Do you know that for a fact?" Evie said, folding her arms and keeping tight hold of the remote in her right hand.
"Er... the note remember, that we found with it?" Jacob said, holding up the small scrap of paper that had been attached to the remote with a blue elastic band. "It says people wouldn't be aware of being swapped. Only those who know of and use the remote will be aware."
"A hand written note written by god knows who, oh yeah... that can totally be trusted." Evie smiled sarastically. "Just... go and play on your damn Xbox or something will you, please." She sighed, shaking her head in annoyance before walking into her bedroom and closing the door behind her.
"Fine, have it your way." Jacob grumbled to himself, tempted to barge into his sister's room and take the remote from her. He decided not to however, simply because the last time he and Evie had got into a 'fight', she'd kicked his ass due to her being a brown belt in Karate. He just scowled at her bedroom door, clenched his fists and then headed into his bedroom. He was tempted to use the remote though... eventually.
