Chapter #6

Sae’s-able Accommodations

    by: Giantessvg Author IconMail Icon
“You’ll be staying with me and Makoto from now on.” Sae announced, her silence thereafter was likely in anticipation for Kurusu’s reaction. His heart still threatening to abandon ship, he simply stared up at the prosecutor before finding his words.

“Is there a reason I’m living with you two specifically?” Akira forced himself to ask. It wasn’t as if he had a problem with living among a close friend and her older sister, however he had admittedly grown very attached to the Sakura family. His faux-father Sojiro, pseudo-sister Futaba, heck he even felt attached to the attic he had called home for a year now... Akira secretly wondered if he had developed Stockholm syndrome.

Sae had expected this line of questioning, and hence came prepared. “There are numerous reasons why this was decided.” She explained before beginning to list them off. “Firstly, as previously mentioned you’ll be out on parole. As such many higher ups want you under trustworthy surveillance, and as someone with close ties to the legal system AND you- they thought I would make the perfect guardian.” She made a good point, however Akira was still a bit hesitant to leave it at that. Before he could raise any more concerns though, she continued. “Reason number two comes down to Sakura-san.” The puny former Phantom Thief raised his eyebrow as if to prod for further explanation, although he didn’t know if Sae could see such specific details. “You carried out your Phantom Thief crimes under his watch, as such he has been deemed as an unworthy guardian for a ‘criminal’.” She finished exaggeratedly using her free hand to mimic quotation marks for the word criminal.

“Alright,” Akira sighed “I can definitely see why they would exclude Sojiro. And why you’d be the one to oversee my probation is also pretty clear. But I have one concern... aside from the possibility of being stepped on” Akira joked as if this weren’t a serious conversation about his foreseeable future.

“What’s that?” The elder Niijima interrogated, something which was eerily familiar to the boy in her palm.

“What will I do about my schooling?” This query... was not preempted by Sae.

Clearly caught off guard by his worry, her eyes vacantly blinked twice before she let out an audible chuckle. “You never fail to surprise me!” Laughter finally erupting from her normally serious exterior. Akira falling on his rear as a result of the vibration coursing through the floor of skin beneath him. “Ah- sorry!” She apologized almost instantly, cutting her laughter short. “Well, Makoto is already a graduate so you won’t be going to Shujin with her. So I suppose we’ll have to work something out with either Takamaki-san or Sakamoto-kun.”

Sae had found it a shock that he was fearful for his schooling, but it was more-so surprising to Akira that she hadn’t planned his education out beforehand. Exhausted he put his hand to his face only for his hands collided with his (fake) glasses. Oh, good those shrunk with me!

—————

Sae slowly stood up, making a concentrated effort not to disturb the small boys stomach too much. He had her sympathy, as he was nearly hugging her palm on the rise. She now sincerely hoped his fear of heights was truly just a joke. Her hand extended towards a nearby table, composed of a pure white plastic which matched the rooms aesthetic, and deposited the shrunken teen atop it. Turning away from him she crouched down as she grabbed her briefcase, only to ascend once more. Niijima (now hovering intimidatingly high above a diminutive Kurusu) slipped her free hand into her purse as if to procure something, only for it to return with a... interesting cubical case. It was completely clear, made of some form of plastic from what Akira could tell. At first he didn’t know what to make of this odd cube or why Sae brought it out- but the he noticed a latch which could seemingly open and close.

“I thought I was on parole. That’s clearly just a plastic cell.” Akira’s neck craned upwards to meet the eyes of the giant in front of him.

Sae rolled her eyes in a very pronounced fashion before opening the door to the cube. “Don’t worry, it’s just for the car ride home. I doubt a seatbelt would keep you from going flying, so think of this as a safety precaution. Besides, you can unlock it from the inside. So it’s not much of a prison is it?”

“That’s good, I imagine you’re a better prosecutor than you are a warden anyhow.” Akira smiled before cautiously hopping into his temporary ‘safety box’.

“I guess I forgot to tell you, huh?” Sae grinned back, receiving a quizzical look from Akira. “I’m taking the bar exam again to be a Lawyer!” The former prosecutor laughed as she gingerly stuffed the cube into her purse which was now slung over her shoulder. Bending over to grab her briefcase she began to head for the exit. She was sure that the day was far from over as she got into her silver car. Setting her purse (and it’s occupant) in the back seat, she started the ignition before getting on the highway, headed for...
