He headed to the Church in Kanda to spend some quality shogi time with the shogi princess and quickly arrived after riding a 240 yen priced subway train.
He saw the beautiful girl playing on her own inside the church paying no attention to the priest who oddly didn't seem to mind, the two of you exchanged greetings and played a match of shogi which predictably you lost but you felt more knowledgeable after the match and thought up a few new strategies for your Phantom Thieves escapade.
"Akira-kun could you come with me outside" Hifumi asked and you complied heading to the back of the church which consisted of a parked car, a delivery motorcycle, a dumpster, and two stray cats who made you wonder what sort of adventures Morgana gets into when you're busy with your confidants.
"So i've been thinking of leaving the Shogi scene" Hifumi said snapping Akira back to reality, "Hifumi please you can't quit a game you love" he replied.
"No i'll still play Shogi but i'm done being the Shogi Princess and i'm done with my mother" she said, "Wait what you aren't planing to run away from home are you, what about your father" he said.
"I'll visit my father but i can't bear my mother anymore..And besides i'd rather be with you" Hifumi said with a hopeful smile leaving Akira shocked, she's in love with me Akira thought.
"Hifumi I,..." Akira's words were cut off as he felt his entire body aching he passes out and drifted off.
When Akira woke up he felt weird and what was even weirder were his surroundings, he was in the church but it was empty and everything was...BIG!?!, he looked up and saw Hifumi towering like a real goddess over him and that's when his brain started to process the fact that he had been shrunk, he was as tall as a shogi piece well maybe even smaller and he realized doctor Takemi's new medicine must be the cause.
"I'm very glad your awake, but i have no idea how this happened Akira-kun" Hifumi said, "Hifumi we have to get to this medical clinic in Shibuya i took some medicine and i think that's what shrunk me" Akira yelled.
"Akira-kun my poor Akira-kun...you were passed out for the whole night and i had to bev the priest to let me stay but just now my mother she...she came and told me we have to go home" Hifumi told him barely holding back tears, Akira met her mother before and knew she wouldn't let Hifumi wander off into a back-alley clinic in Shibuya and it looked like her mother was going to lock her up in her home for a few days.
This left him with two options either he and Hifumi could try to escape or he could stay with Hifumi.
He felt guilty for putting Hifumi in this position so he told her his plans and let her decide.
"I...yes, i make hard decisions on Shogi everytime so i can make decisions in real life" she said confidently.
