"No way, you lunatic!" Jake yelled. He was not about to let Stephanie get away with this, and he had just hatched a plan. Looking up at his sister's nose, with it's huge, breathing nostrils, Jake gulped over what he was about to do, then took a running leep off of Stephanie's palm, aiming straight for her nose.
"Oh, come on, Jake--" Stephanie began, but before she could continue trying to bargain with her tiny brother, she noticed that he had just launched himself off of her hand. "Wait, what the hell are you doing?!" she exclaimed.
Jake sailed through the air briefly, spread eagle and reaching out as far as he could in front of him. Fortunately for Jake the first step of his wild plan was successful; his hands met with the flesh of Stephanie's left nostril, which he gripped tightly. Stephanie let out a squeal of shock when he did so. The momentum he had from flying through the air transferred and immediately allowed him to swing himself up into the nostril. Jake landed flat on his back on the moist wall of Stephanie's nose, his adrenaline still pumping furiously from the stunt he had just pulled off. He grimaced a little as he looked around at the inside of his sister's nose. Wind from her breathing rustled his hair.
"Ah! Jake! What -- did you just -- did you just --" Stephanie stammered, unable to process what she had just witnessed. "Jake, what the hell? Get out of my nose, you freak!" she demanded, shock quickly turning to anger.
Jake caught his breath. "Wow, I can't believe that worked!" he said to himself, quite satisfied. He sat up in Stephanie's nose. "Gross," he complained as his hands made contact with the slightly wet flesh. "Hey, Steph!" he shouted to his sister, announcing his plan. "You said you don't know when this stuff wears off, right?"
"What?! Why, are you talking about?" Stephanie shouted back, wrinkling her nose. Jake's presence was irritating in more ways than one, and she didn't have time for his games.
Whoa, Jake breathed, struggling to maintain balance as Steph's nose moved. God, I hope this works. "Well, now you have no choice! Promise you'll make me normal right now or I'll just chill here 'til that stuff wears off! I don't think you want a normal-sized me inside of your head," he teased, trying his best to scare her a little.
The thought Jake had just planted in Stephanie's head did frighten her a little. Jake, that little itch in her nose, was now worrying her. Steph's eyes widened as she realized that what Jake was talking about was entirely possible. "You wouldn't ..." she started, trying to call her brother's bluff, but she didn't want to let on the fact that Jake's suggestion had actually scared her.
"Oh yeah?" Jake replied, putting his arms behind his head and leaning against the inner wall of Stephanie's nose. "I don't know, Steph, I don't think you want to try me. It's really pretty relaxing in here! And all I have to do is wait," he warned. He hoped he could scare her out of calling his bluff, because truthfully Jake knew there was no way he could go through with what he was threatening.
He's right, Stephanie thought, looking around for a way out of her situation. She hated that he was right. Stephanie didn't want to let Jake win this, but she was also too scared to call his bluff. The girl looked down at her right hand, which was now tightly gripping her pencil in fear, and decided how she was going to deal with the tickle inside her nose.
