The Not-so-Little Mermaid.

What I found was a strange creature just beneath the water. My initial thought was that it was a huge monster, like a leviathan or perhaps Cthulhu. At least until it rose to the surface. The creature turned out to be a gigantic mermaid, and a beautiful one at that. I don't know what caught my interest more. Her smiling face or her hair the was even redder than a burning fire.

She looked in my direction and slowly approached me. "Oh my gosh. A human." she said with a smile. "Strange. I thought you'd be bigger." I calmly answered her "Well, since you said that, I'm not so sure if I'm my usual height now. You're not going to hurt me, are you?" "Of course not." she replied. "In fact, I'd like to help you out and maybe get to know you. I'm Ariel."
