Jake couldn't believe what he was reading, apparently the clinic he had been recommended to traded in body parts. The brochure mentioned that there were two types of body parts, originals and copies.
Originals were pretty self explanatory but there were still a few details about the process. That you could have your original part detached to equip other originals or copies and they were your responsibility after that but only the clinic had the means to reattach any body part.
Copies were clones of original body parts, to allow for more sales however they were inferior versions and could only be made while to store owned the originals. There were several types of copies someone could buy, there were ones that lacked feeling, ones that aged 10x as quick, those that weren't completely functional and ones that faded away after a while.
There wasn't a limit on how much you could sell though it did mention there were dangers in that, especially if you only had copied parts. It also mentioned that you could get free copies of original parts you sold but those originals would be the clinic's property to do as they pleased.
After reading the brochure, Jake gave another look around the clinic and noticed a few odd things here and there, like some people looking a bit more plastic, having body parts that didn't quite match the rest of their body, either being older or not fitting. He also noticed a few people with crotches and someone in a wheelchair.
He looked back at the pregnant woman and wondered what she was here for. Though he didn't even get the opportunity to think about asking as she went behind closed doors.
Even though he now knew what this clinic did, it didn't phase Jake, he was still willing to give the clinic a go, especially if it allowed him to make some extra cash on the side, depending on how much copies cost. Though he also had some savings now that he was pretty sure he could afford to buy a new body part if he chose to.
