This choice: Semi-realistic gain speed over a much longer time • Go Back...Chapter #5Semi-realistic gain speed over a much longer time by: peabnutbubber   With a snap of her fingers, the witch sent out a blast of magical energy that raced outwards like a great dome, expanding to fill the whole camp. It started off bright green when it first escaped her fingers, but rapidly faded to become totally invisible. It stopped right around the perimeter of the camp, creating a special barrier that ignored matter, but twisted how time worked.
Now, with the spell in place, time in the outside world would continue at the same speed, so that the boys communicating with anyone outside of the barrier wouldn't cause any strange instabilities or paradoxes, but the outside world was now in a time loop. The week where all the boys were supposed to be in lacrosse practice would happen over and over again, without anyone thinking anything strange was going on.
Meanwhile, inside the bubble, there was no time loop. Everyone would experience time as normal, but since the outside world was looping, the seasons still wouldn't change. Although the witch was certain they would still be perceptive enough to eventually realize that time had changed somehow, she wasn't too worried about them actually doing much about it.
The enchantment on the camp was designed to make everything feel more like a good dream than actual reality, making everyone increasingly unlikely to question or worry about anything, and lower their inhibitions and suspicions. The effect would be more than strong enough to keep them complacent by time the first week was up. Not even most supernaturals were resistant. Eventually, it'd get to a point where she could openly admit her true powers and identity if she wanted to, and no one would even mind.
But with the time spell successfully set up, the witch could relax for a while, and just watch her plans unfold.
So what boys will we be focusing on the most right now? (Note that this can of course be changed freely as things progress, and it's merely about who's at the forefront, not literally restricting things to only those boys)  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
