“Abort the project! Abort the Project!” shouted the lead Illumati scientist as he rushed into the main lab chamber. “Rin Okumera and that bitch from the Vatican will be hear any moment. Burn and delete everything!” Everywhere scientists were scrambling to erase any evidence of their research. Meanwhile the sounds of screaming low-level demons echoed into the chamber, as well as the sounds of swords clanging.
“Sir,” shouted one of the engineers as he pointed to the case in the center of the room. “What should we do about the artifact?”
“One of us will have to try and escape with it!” proclaimed the lead scientist. “Even were it not indestructible, it is the key focus of our project and I’ll be damned if it falls into the hands of the exorcists.” He rushed over to the display case and quickly removed the glass, but just as he was about to take it, blue flames erupted from the main entrance as a glowing figure in a school uniform glided into the room.
“Everyone drop your guns.” Rin said with a triumphant smile and sword drawn. “They can’t kill me anyway.”
“Good because we need you alive!” The sicentitst smirk as he and all five combat personel in the room drew their weapons.
The half demon laughed and raised him palm. “SAITAIN MELT!” he shouted as all six guns became enveloped in blue flames, forcing those wielding them to let go.
“Nice work Rin!” cried the ever scantily dressed Shura Kirigakure as she entered the room, sword resting over her shoulder. “And you didn’t even have to kill a single one of these low lives. Great work.”
It wasn’t long before reinforcements showed up to take the captured soldiers and scientist into the Orders custody. It was during this time that Rins eyes fell upon the open display case in the center of the room. On it rested a necklace with black string and a bright blue gem.
“Oh sweet!” the exorcist said with a grin as his tail perked up, “I bet this would look great on me.” Without any moment’s hesitations or causation, Rin yanked the necklace from its stand and placed it around his neck. Upon doing this that Rin felt a jolt through his entire body.
“Rin take that off.” Yelled Shura who had finally taken notice of what Rin was doing. “You god dame idiot!”
“What?” he shrugged. “Its just a dumbass neckless. I can take it off right now. Rin tugged at the strings of the necklace only to find that for whatever reason he could not.
“Shit Shura I think this thing might be cursed.”
Shura smashed her palm against her face and moaned. “Let’s get back to the academy” she grumbled. “Mephestio will probably know how to remove it.”
---
“What do you mean you don’t know how to remove it!?” Shura yelled looking completely dumbfounded.
“Sorry,” the demonic headmaster chimed. “Just have the Mr. Okumera keep an eye on him. I’m sure he’ll be fine.” Shura caught a sinister but subtle hint of Sarcasm in his last sentence as if he knew exactly what that neckless was and what to expect from it. It could have just been her overall mistrust of him that made her come to that conclusion but still, for a moment she thought she got a smirk on his face.
Rin yawned and stretched out his arms. “Anyways I better split. This necklace looks good on me anyway. I won’t even tell anyone it might be cursed.” Thus the story of Rin and blue stone around his neck began.
