After having a light dinner and feeding Aerion, you are about to bed down for the night. You would prefer to sleep in a bed indoors, but you cannot afford that luxury, especially since you're so far away from any inns. On the bright side, you have a tent, and the ground along the Trident is a little softer than it typically is elsewhere.
Just before you enter your tent, something catches your eye. Up until now, the surface of the nearby river has been relatively calm and peaceful. At this moment, a large mass comes floating downstream. Although it is quite dark, the shine of the moon reflects on the surface of the water, and you are able to identify it as a body. The body appears to belong to a woman, and she is lying face-up.
You have no idea who that woman might be, but it occurs to you that she might be alive. Even if the chances are slim, you are unwilling to turn a blind eye. Regardless of who she is, you feel compelled to rescue her.
You hastily remove your clothing until you are down to your smallclothes. Then you dive in and swim out to meet the body. When you reach her, you grab on, hold her securely, and bring her back to the shore.
When you are back on the shore, you get a closer look at her face. She appears to be in her mid-thirties, and she has long auburn hair and red lips. Her clothing suggests she is highborn. You check for a pulse and a heartbeat, and you find both. However, upon a closer look, you realize that her throat has been cut. She is bleeding out slowly but surely. You panic at that, and you wonder what you can do for her.
