“You're building a restaurant near the coast? Ooh, maybe we can theme it around the beach, have chefs wearing something a bit revealing! That’ll certainly draw in crowds, right Gloria?”
Standing in the now bought property on 100 Harbor Road, Gloria and Nicole would both be observing the new locale that they now owned. They were testing every chair, trying every booth seat, and checking for any weak floorboard, in order to make sure the place they bought was actually safe.
Thankfully, once they were done checking, aside from a squeaky board near the entrance, the place seemed to be fine. A few booth seats would need to be more spaced to allow bigger residents to sit in them, but for now the soon to be restaurant looked ready to serve.
The only thing that they had to decide on now was a theme though, and that would be a challenge.
“So, what do you think Gloria? Can we please do the beach theme? I’d finally have the chance to try out this new bikini I got last year, and I won’t have to wear such a restricting chef uniform...”
Looking around, Gloria would sigh a bit. “I admit, that is somewhat of a interesting idea, but I was more thinking of a pirate theme. Would certainly help sell food with how popular they seem to be in recent years.”
“Maybe... but at least consider! Besides, this building’s partially on the harbor, maybe if we don’t do that theme we could at least have a small place in the break room to relax and swim after hours?”
“Hmm... I’ll definitely do that, could use a good break after every workday myself. But as for the theme... I’ll probably sleep over it, and call you back in the morning on what theme we should go with. You think that’s fair?”
Checking the back of the kitchen as she was asked this, Nicole would sigh a bit, as she would feel the water flowing underneath the back of the store. “I guess that’s fair at least. So you wanna cook some early dinner with me while we finish checking this place out?”
Feeling her stomach growl, Gloria would only nod as the two would end up working together, cooking up with some supplies they had already brought over, cooking up some slices of salmon and shrimp into a meal fit for four. Smelling the completed meal, the two would set it down on the nearest booth before digging into it together.
After a while, eventually the two would finish off this seafood platter, their stomachs stretched to their limits as they would lie down in their booth seats. Rubbing her own belly, Gloria felt happy for the first time in quite a bit, probably due to trying out some of her own food, and Nicole would seem to be in a similar state.
“One thing’s for certain at least Nicole... the menu is definitely going to involve a bunch of seafood on top of the burgers we serve at every one of our locations. You feel okay about that at least?”
“Oh yeah, totally. Man, I haven’t had popcorn shrimp in such a while but it tastes so much better than I imagine. We should eat together more often...”
“Agreed.” Helping Nicole squeeze out of her booth seat after squeaking out of it herself, Gloria would help carry her fellow chef with her out of their new location, with the intent of turning it into her next restaurant. She already had a crew in mind for this place, now all she needed was a theme...
