Steve decides that they both need to be punished, so he waits for them to get closer together. He waits as Nicole peddles her bicycle close to where her brother is shooting hoops. Steve points his ray gun at them and fires it off. However, something goes horribly wrong. There is a brief bright flash of greenish light, and the ray gun gently lands on the lawn at its normal size, next to some cans of beer. (Beer and a shrink ray, always a good combination.) A few seconds later, there is an eerie quite over the area, as the few now empty cars that are on the neighborhood street slowly stop or hit something. In addition, now empty clothes blow around in the wind. The whole scene resembles the opening to the 1980’s movie, The Night of the Comet. Just without the yellow dust or the comet. In addition, only living humans seem to have been miniaturized, not animals.
