As much as Debbie thought it would be a blast to mess around with her family members, friends, neighbors, etc with the shrink ray, the dedicated head nurse of the ER decided to skip it into her purse for work in the morning. “I’m sure we can have some fun there,” she giggled to herself.
That morning, Debbie walked through the hospital to the emergency department. Most people would have no idea why she was in an unusually cheerful mood, saying hi to several janitors and volunteers who she rarely spoke with. In reality, Debbie was beyond excited to have the shrink ray with her at work.
With a smile, Debbie sat down at her desk at the nurses station. “Good morning Debbie!” a young voice called to her.
Debbie turned her head and smiled. It was her nurse practitioner Irina, a senior nursing student in college. “Hey Irina, how are you?”
Irina sighed. She was clearly tired. Debbie guesses she was probably a bit hungover. “Just tired, really tired,” she laughed, and dipped her coffee.
“Long night?” Debbie laughed.
“Just...yeah I guess it was kind of a long night,” Irina said in an embarrassed tone. “I just hope we’re not busy today.”
Debbie made her usual morning rounds saying hi to the fellow nurse practitioners, nurses and doctors. She greeted the doctor she worked with the most, Dr. Christian Horn. Dr. Horn was a tall, good lucking man in his early 30’s with short brown hair and a trimmed beard. While Debbie thought he was handsome and a very nice guy, he had the tendency to be quite egotistical at times.
As her mind drifted back to the shrink ray, Debbie began to fantasize how she should use it today. She smiled, deciding the would.....
