Found by a friendly giant

Derek was a little confused as the ground started shaking. Before he could react, his giant friend reappeared. The boy stared up in awe, his friend was so big compared to him now. Derek immediately became worried that Johnny would accidentally step on him.
Johnny realized he had forgotten his wallet and came back for it. As he entered his room, he soon froze with confusion. Derek was no longer here, despite the fact Johnny had been gone for a few seconds. The cogs in his head turned as he tried to figure out what he was missing.
An idea suddenly occurred to him, causing the boy to kneel down. He carefully searched the floor until he spotted his tiny friend jumping and screaming. Johnny lowered his hand and allowed him to step on. Derek was extremely glad his friend found him. He expected the situation to turn bad but not this early.
“Derek, is that you? I thought you were going to wait for me.” Johnny said. The tiny boy’s face turned red with embarrassing. The giant was a little upset, he really wanted to test it out with his friend. Johnny partially didn’t blame him though as he felt it would be hard to resist such an interesting device.
“Whatever, I have you now so I better decide what to do with you before I go to work.” Johnny said. Derek nodded, he wanted to suggest something but he was pretty sure he was too small to be heard. The giant boy considered some options.
He considered giving him to his sister so she could look after him. It was possible Derek could help her become less shy. The only thing was, he wasn’t sure how Rose would react.
Another option was his mother. Johnny knew his mother would take good care of him while he was gone. He was a little bit worried she might decide to have too much fun with Derek though.
A third option that Johnny had considered was taking Derek with him. Johnny worked at a grocery store and had quite a few friendly coworkers. It could also give them both a chance to explore their surroundings at a new height.
