As Debbie took her seat in the theater with her friends along side her, she leaned back and watched the previews. There were a few new movies coming out soon that honestly looked pretty good. Then the standard message asked for everyone in the theater to turn off their devices. Debbie pulled out her phone before realizing that the device was still in her purse.
She wasn't sure if it had an off switch...but she thought it would be best to check. She knew it created a large beam of light when it fired, and she didn't want to disturb anyone else in the theater. So she casually reached for her purse and pulled out the device, careful not to let her friends see it.
Her hand covered the barrel as she examined the device. It was dark, so she had to run her hands along the device to check for an off button or safety feature. But as she felt something, she tried pressing it...not realizing it was the trigger.
Her palm absorbed the burst of light as it fired, making not even her friends nearby notice it go off. But Debbie quickly lost sight of the screen as she shrunk down. At some point, she dropped the shrink ray from her hands, unaware if it shrunk with her or not. But soon enough, she was on her set at an inch tall.
Before she could do anything, the seat pulled back due to the lack of weight keeping it in place. Debbie screamed as she slid down the cloth surface before hitting open air. A few moments of falling and Debbie landed on the cold floor below. As she got up, she could only see underneath the row of chairs above her and the legs of the giants occupying them.
