"Marino Mitsuko.", Mitsuko said. He was wearing black combat boots, blue jeans that were a little long, a belt with fist-shaped buckle, a long red t-shirt, and a leather jacket; topped off with brown messy hair.
"So, shall we go, Kodai?", Mitsuko asked. Kodai nodded, and took his hand and started walking.
Kodai, Kodai. It doesn’t sound right on the tongue. Mitsuko would love to address Kodai by her given name, Yui. Her family name seems a bit off on his tongue but it would be weird to address a stranger by their given name. He would have to be close to her.
Mitsuko’s name talk got cut off and he instead started blushing heavily, as her hand felt very nice. "Not much of a talker, are you?", he asked her. Kodai has not said a word since they met and she continues to stay silent as they walk through the city.
“...”, Kodai just shrugged, and continues to hold his hand.
"Your hand is soft.", Mitsuko told her. Kodai stopped walking, and he could see her face turning red.
"Is something wrong?", He asked. Have they arrived at U.A. or something?
"I just don't get complimented that often", She said. Her voice was barely audible but Mitsuko could still hear her.
"Aha, she speaks!", Mitsuko said.
Kodai frown, blushing embarrassment, and went silent. She tugged on his hand and they continued walking. She didn’t seem to take the compliment well. Maybe... she thinks she doesn’t deserve it. But why?
"Ah, sorry about that. I was teasing.”, Mitsoku apologized. Kodai kept walking, heading further and further away from people.
Mitsoku isn’t liking this awakened silence. He feels like he should say something. “I’m surprise. You and the U.A.’s hero students are all amazing. As long as you are working to make a difference, you should be proud of yourself.” Mitsoku said. If he had a quirk, he would also be striving to be a hero.
Kodai stops walking. He hears a faint mumbling coming from her. They had stopped in a less crowded area and there are fewer shops that Mitsoku recognize here.
Suddenly, Kodai firmly grabs a hold of his hand and pulls him away from the street. She dragged him into an alleyway; and forcing Mitsoku against a wall, and gazed fiercely into his eyes.
"Do you know what you just did?", She asked in a neutral tone.
"Um...", Mitsoku wasn’t really sure what prompted this reaction.
"You made me feel better about what I've done so far, more than anyone else has; even me. Thank you!", Kodai said.
That was when she threw her arms over him and forced her lips on Mitsoku, having him react in surprise by her sudden. He is completely confused right but return her embraced in a kiss.
"Let's have a proper introduction. My name is Yui Kodai of class 1B. My quirk is Size; I can change my size. And you?", she asked. She seems to be a lot more talkative then before.
"Marino Mitsuko, I have no quirk. But what was...", that kiss, Mitsoku was about ask.
"You don't? So you have the problem with the toe joint?", She asked. Her neutral expression seem slightly worried.
"No, I just haven't had my quirk show up. Late bloomer, you know.", Mitsoku said, joking poorly to lighten the mood.
Still concern about Mitsoku being quirkless, she asked, "Did you get an evaluation?"
"No, my parents said to wait for something to happen; then get the evaluation. At the time, I was ok with it but now I really don’t know why didn’t do an evaluation.", Mitsoku said. Wait, why are we talking about whether I have my quirk or not? What about that kiss?
"That's not how it should be.” Kodai said. She is standing against Mitsoku, her body pressing against his. Her neutral face doesn’t match what she is saying.
“... How about you come with me? There should be an evaluation clinic near the train station.", She said. She is being very insistent.
"But the festival...", Mitsoku said. He still wants to join his friend and talk about this kiss he got.
"Don't worry. The festival starts in an hour and the clinic is 10 minutes by walking, faster if we jog. Lets go!", Kodai grabbed his hand and dragged him along, pulling a confused Mitsoku.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
