You stumble back, leaning forward to catch your balance. “I’m sorry, huff, I was in a hurry.”
The lady frown at that half-hearted apology. “That was dangerous to run as fast as you did. I saw you running into the crowd and almost knocked down a pedestrian. You could’ve hurt him.” The lady scolded you as people walked by.
You look up and saw who you are talking to. It’s an older woman, early 30’s, if you had to guess. She has short, brown hair with red lines under her eyes with a height of 5ft 6.
Ok, you also notice she is wearing a very bazaar costume. Some pink, long headgear, red boots with pink fur at the shins and weird cat paws on her hands. Really strange, you can’t seem to focus away from those weird, yet cute, gloves. The rest of her outfit, excluding the collar around her neck and the cat tail, somehow reminds you of an American, maroon, marching band uniform. You frown as you listen to the lady’s grievance, which had some reason in it. Yeah, you should have slowed down. But it’s for something important. You want to keep your friendship from dying out and being late would hurt more than help.
“I- ... I apologize. It won’t happen again.” You said, bowing to the lady. You don’t want to cause anymore trouble and this lady could call the authorities, which would only delay you further.
The lady seems satisfied with your response. “Good. I’m sorry to put you on the spot. I was watching an accident waiting to happen and it’s my duty to prevent them. Please be careful and keep in mind of the people around you.” She said, with her being apologetic this time.
You look up again, puzzled. “Duty? Are you a hero?”
The lady smiled. “Yes! I’m the hero, Mandalay, of the Wild Wild Pussycats!”
Mandalay called her hero name out and took a weird pose.
You, not being too knowledgeable about heroes, blanked on that. “Y-yeah, Wild Wild Pussy...” Your mind went somewhere else.
Mandalay let go of her pose. “Yeah, I’m not with my group at the moment and took the opportunity to go on patrol, which now I’m glad I did.” Her tail swished. “By the way, what is your name?”
“Mine? Well... I am in a hurry...”
“I just want to know if I run into you again.”
“When would- ok, I’ll tell you. It’s...   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
