You feel yourself stiffen with shock when you see a woman come out of darkness with fair skin, blue eyes, and a rather generous bust. She stopped just before entering the kitchen and leaned against the wall corner. Keeping her respectful distance, she smiles warmly and clasps her hands at her waistline.
"Good evening, Andrew. My name is Anna. I have been instructed by your father to become your new mother."
You can't speak, still unable to believe that your father had gifted you an Android. Furthermore, he gifted it out with the purpose of becoming your...mother?
"D-dad..." you speak slowly, stepping back, "...W-why? This is...uncalled for."
Anna cocks her head as she glances at Derick. "Your son is in quite a state of shock. Should I leave to give you two more time?"
Derick sighs and pats Anna's shoulder. "No, please stay. I kind of figured he would react negatively to this sort of arrangement."
"Dad!" you shout, relaying your true problem with this arrangement, "...it's one thing to buy an Android...which I'm not even sure how to accept so suddenly, but...someone to become my mother?! Really!?"
Derick frowns and looks down, wondering how he should explain his reasoning for this. "Son, I...even if you tell me that you want to move forward, I've seen that you continue to miss your mother. I can't bring her back, as much as I wish to, so I want to give this sort of arrangement a chance. Please give Anna a chance."
"Dad," you chuckle dryly, "...why you would you even think I would-"
"I've peeked into your room a few times in the last month to find you asleep when I get home," Derick interrupts, "...and of those times, I've seen you cry and call out for your mother. How can I forget something like that?"
Your words are caught in your throat and you find yourself reddening with embarrassment. You do miss your mother, dearly but at the same time, that doesn't mean you needed something like this.
"Andrew, please. Just...give this a chance, okay? There's a possibility that Anna may be the thing you need in your life. Don't think of her as an Android, think of her as a human being - someone that can love and allow you to sleep properly. I'm...trying to solve my lack of presence and your mother issue here at the same time."
It's already bad enough that your father knows about your mom issues. What do you do?
