You glanced around the corner at the glass boxes with various sparkly jewelry on display. Though you normally didn't have much of an interest in rings or necklaces, some of the items propped up for sale had certainly caught your eye with their unique designs and cheap price tags. Sure, some of them were plastic but they were no differently priced than the real deals. Or what seemed to be the real deal from your perspective.
There was one ring that looked similar to those "dice rings" you had seen in conventions with Dungeons and Dragons shops. It was a single ring with three "spinners" on it. Two of them were labelled with increasingly larger numbers from 1 to 200 by powers of 5 on one and 50 to 500 by powers of 10 on the other. The third spinner had just two labels. M and F.
The other thing to catch your eye was a golden amulet with a rather large ruby on it. Rubies were your birthstone and you always found them rather pretty. This particular gem was so large that it was almost prop sized. But the shine it gave told you it was real, even if you didn't quite believe the price tag. There was something odd about staring into the blood red jewel.
Those were the first two items you had in mind, though perhaps you could always look elsewhere...
