When you first spotted Kamui, you noticed that, instead of wearing his traditional loincloth, he was sporting his blue swim trunks.
You remember that you were the one who helped him pick out the swimwear. The canine transient preferred to swim nude, but despite many of Tokyo’s beaches becoming clothing-optional after this world became a hub for multiple different Earths, given how prudish some people can be, you figured it would be best if the wolf wore something.
Ideally, you wanted Kamui to wear even less. There was a tight-fitting speedo that would have looked perfect on him, but it was tight to the point of chafing, and although he was willing to wear it simply for your approval, the last thing you wanted was to see the silver wolf in pain. You managed to find an alternative though, as the chosen trunks were made out of an elastic material, contouring to his powerful leg muscles and large package while also giving him freedom of movement.
From wearing them, you could only assume where he was heading.
“How about we go to the beach?” you suggested.
The wolf god looked puzzled, and rightfully so. “My hero, is... is that a wise decision? Given the circumstances, our top priority is your health and well-being. We should take you somewhere safe and inform your guild members of the situation.”
Kamui was right. That was the logical thing to do... however, the thought of seeing his gigantic, chiseled physique completely wet and glistening was enough to make your mouth water, and a chance you were willing to take.
“We can do all that later. I may be small, but other than that, I’m totally fine! Besides, given what you’re wearing, you must’ve been ready to go for a swim, and I don’t want you to cancel your plans because of my problems.”
The wolf looked at you with his normal, glare-like look, but you could see a tinge of compassion in those golden eyes.
“My hero, your problems are my problems as well. I have vigorously trained both body and soul to be your protector, to be your sword and sheath. None of your problems could ever inconvenience me.”
That dedication was one of the reasons why you were attracted to the wolf. It was overbearing at times, but he always had the best of intentions, and that’s what mattered.
Although, you loved his body as well... and the mental image of his furry frame soaked from head-to-toe was something you couldn’t shake.
“I’ll be fine! Like you said, I have my ‘sword and sheath’ to look after me. If something were to happen, you’re the best fighter I know and there is no one else I would rather have my back, plus you have your sacred artifacts if things really go south. Trust me... we’re good.”
Despite your reassurance, Kamui couldn’t help but worry, some concern noticeably in his eyes.
“What if you fell off? You could be eaten by a bug, or splatter into a car’s windshield, or break every bone in your body as you crash into the earth, never to be seen or heard from again... You have been fortunate enough already! Had I not heard your voice, I could have easily trampled you underfoot without even noticing! The thought of my hero dying so unceremoniously... I cannot have that! I will never-”
“Kamui!”
With that barely audible yell of his name, Kamui snapped out of his thought process and focused solely on you and what you had to say.
“I have made up my mind. I appreciate your concern, but we are not heading back until we have ourselves a little swim. Is that clear?”
A look of bewilderment creeped onto the silver wolf’s face, which, after a small sigh, turned into a look of reluctant acceptance.
Although he was much more powerful than you, an elite fighter with many years of training and experience, to him, you were the one in charge. You were the one calling the shots. You, despite being so small that you were literally in the palm of his hand, were the one in control.
Kamui had that much faith in you, and you knew that. You would never take his devotion for granted, but given the many ways he showed his admiration, you knew that there were times when you had to voice your displeasure.
You decided that this was one of those times. Kamui had to swallow his pride and prove to his hero that he was subservient, and from that, you already knew what his response was going to be.
“If that is what you wish, my hero.”
“I’m happy to hear you say that.” You give the wolf a big smile, grateful for his servitude. “Now, place me inside your ear.”
Contempt with his hero’s approval, Kamui complied. As he did what he was told, his face was already back to its natural, stoic expression.
You grabbed on tight to a handful of the wolf’s fur, speaking softly into his ear:
“Thank you, Kamui. So... where are we off to?”
