Alan, as the “popular” version of Megan, had been wearing only a pair of stud earrings and a simple bracelet, but now he had dangling chandelier-style earrings, and several more bracelets and a couple of necklaces had appeared.
Megan was curious once again about what the effect would be if she pressed the same button, and figuring she’d eventually find the proper one to revert the transformations, she did it.
Alan’s earrings were now large silver hoops, and he had about a half-dozen bracelets on each arm, and a similar number of necklaces, including a black choker. It might not have been obvious before due to the dark skin, but Megan now noticed that the makeup on his face was thicker, the eye shadow brighter and applied to a wider area, the lipstick a bit glossier. His fingernails now had manicured white tips as well.
Megan pressed the button one more time. There were now several smaller silver hoops through the sides of each ear and a similar hoop through one of Alan’s nostrils. A silver charm dangled from a piercing in Alan’s navel. The necklaces and bracelets hadn’t apparently changed, except for the choker, which now had silver raised letters spelling A-L-A-N. Even against his skin, his makeup appeared vivid and colorful, particularly the wet-looking pink of his overstuffed lips. His fingernails had grown to about an inch long, still with white tips.
Again, it was a little bit over the top. Megan shook her head as she tried the next button down.
In the blink of an eye, Alan’s breasts, hips, and thighs noticeably expanded, and his waist contracted.
Megan was stunned enough that she hit the button again, almost accidentally.
After only two presses of the button, it definitely seemed over the top. Alan’s voluptuous curves were well out of place on Megan’s body. Interestingly, the clothes seemed to have grown somewhat to accommodate what they were containing, although the top was straining against the melon-sized objects -- and was tight enough, Megan realized, that it appeared the nipples were pierced with jewelry.
She was getting a little disillusioned about the prospects of the device turning the rest of her family back into her normal selves, or even reversing the changes she’d now given her father and brother, and took another look down at the device as it rested in her hand. This inspection revealed that four of the buttons seemed to be slightly out of line with the rest.
Megan decided to concentrate on those four, and hoping one of them wasn’t a “leave everyone like they are now and turn off this device forever” button, she did “eenie-meenie-miney-moe” to pick the one to try first.
It came out as the top one of the four. She shrugged, pointed the device at Alan, and pressed that button.
A green aura appeared around him, but there seemed to be no other effect.
Megan was taken aback by the aura, but pointed the remote at her father -- currently in the form of a “cheerleader” version of herself -- and pressed the second button.
He now had a blue aura.
She turned toward her mother, as the “nerdy” version of herself, who she’d been ignoring up until now. She pressed the third button.
Her mother now had a red aura.
Megan looked down at the device again, wondering what the fourth button would do, and discovered that the light on the device was now glowing a steady green.
“Here goes nothing,” she thought, and pointing the device up in the air, she pressed that fourth button.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
