One of the kids tries to steal the book from him

Suddenly, Alan dropped his videogame and jumped forward to yank the book from a startled Steve's hands, who barely had time to utter a few words in the same ancient language as before. Suddenly, he fell to the ground, holding his head. "Ow..." he said, looking up with a dazed expression. Janet and Megan ran over to help him up as Alan opened the book curiously.

"Honey, are you alright?" Janet asked, putting an arm around Steve, who grinned as he pushed Megan away and pulled Janet close, eyes glowing bright green once again.

"Oh yes, I'm doing marvelously" he said, gripping her so tightly that she couldn't let go. "And so is my new apprentice. Isn't that right, Elaina?"

Janet turned to see that Alan had disapeared, replaced with a beautiful blonde-haired young woman who seemed to be in her early twenties. "Oh, yes Master. I feel fantastic! Much better than I did as a little boy. Can I pleaassseeee perform a spell now? I'm already holding the book!"

The possessed Steve smiled, still holding Janet next to him with what seemed like superhuman strength as she tried to pull herself away. Megan, by now, was curled up in a corner crying. "I suppose you've earned it. Not only do you get to perform a spell, my dear apprentice, but you also get to decide what one of these other unwanted guests turns into. Have fun" he said as the newly minted Elaina smirked mischeviously and flipped her way through the book.
