"Bullshit," Rebekah said, frowning at Charlotte. "Quit messing around, Charlotte. We need to get downstairs before the morning huddle or Liz is gonna yell at us again."
"Yeah, c'mon," Laura said, nodding in agreement. "A trait swapping power? Really? Who'd ever believe that?"
"It's not bullshit," Charlotte said, rolling her eyes at her two friends. She wasn't a fan of their skepticism, not that she could blame them. If either Rebekah or Laura had showed up to work that morning and told her they had been given the power to swap any traits, physical or mental, between people thanks to a magic book, she wouldn't have believed them either.
"I tried it on the way to work this morning," Charlotte explained to her friends. "Best bus ride I've ever had," she added with a grin.
"Seriously, Charlotte?" Rebekah asked dryly.
"Obviously you won't believe me without a demonstration," Charlotte grumbled. "Here, try walking in each other's shoes." With a snap of her fingers, Charlotte swapped her friends' heads onto each other's bodies. Both gasped in surprise and looked down at their new bodies.
"Oh my gosh!" Laura exclaimed.
"What? How?" Rebekah asked.
Charlotte just smiled smugly. "Like I said, I can swap any traits I want between anyone I want and even choose who is aware of the swaps. Don't ask me how. I read it in the book, and it just gave me the power before it disappeared."
Rebekah and Laura just continued to look at Charlotte with dumbfounded expressions on their faces.
"Now then," Charlotte said, snapping her fingers. The girls' heads returned to their original bodies as Charlotte continued to speak, "I'm going to have some fun today and you two are coming along for the ride."
A wicked grin appeared on Charlotte's face. Rebekah and Laura looked at each other with unsure expressions on their faces. Whatever their friend had in store, it was sure to be interesting.
