.. I still think we can be friends."

You look at the fox boy in surprise. "I just tried to eat him and he wants to make friends with me now?" You thought so. Somehow, it still became a pleasant warmth in your chest for the thought. You never had friends. Every kid was scared of you and ran away after hearing or seeing what you were doing when you were hungry. You didn't blame them. Who would want to be with someone who devours them if he accidentally get hungry. But it always hurt you. But now maybe you had a chance to change things.
"All right." You said shyly. "If you really want to be my friend then you can be. And I promise I won't eat you." Then you continue quietly. "I hope so."
You saw the fox cub rejoice when he hears your answer. He held out his hand to you and helped you get up. While you were sitting on the ground your eyes were almost the same height but now you are rising well above the fox. At first you thought the fox boy would change his mind now and run away but he didn't seem to bother with your size. Your kind are big and strong and you are too tall for your age. So far, this has also prevented you from making friends. But it looks like this boy won't back down.
