This choice: "Of course, I shall aid you, human." Uxie replied, convinced • Go Back...Chapter #8The mercy of a guardian by: Unknown Uxie pondered her decision long and hard. Could she really take this random human under her care as much as intriguing his situation was?
She didn't notice any of those bi-colored spheres his kind threw at hers to capture pokemon when she searched for food in his bag, but for what she knew, he could easily be a trainer.
Though he did mention that he was here because of just ‘a break from city and stress’, didn't pokemon trainers usually travel?
If this little guy wasn't a trainer, did she have the heart to leave him by himself?
"Human," the pixie spoke after a while of being deep in thought, startling you; her voice seemed to echo around in the whole cave.
"I have taken a decision, but I'd like to know something before telling you." she said.
"Y-Yeah?" you replied, perplexed. What did this pixie want now?
Uxie hovered close to the rock that had been your bed for the night; once again, you got that weird feeling of being observed despite her eyelids being sealed.
"Your kind captures and makes pokemon battle," she started.
"Hey, you're getting the wrong idea!" you spoke up, maybe a bit too loudly,
"Alright, my kind captures pokemon, but a lot of times they bond and-" Uxie interrupted.
"You're the one getting the wrong idea. I don't hold any grudges against humans, proof of it is that I saved you. I know most of you aren't bad, but it's also true that some people are really foolish. But- that's not the point," Uxie abruptly interrupted herself,
"We are talking about you. I want to know if you're a trainer or not."
You remained silent for a couple moments; a small breeze blew inside the cave, causing you to shiver slightly.
"... No?" you hesitated.
Uxie cocked her head in a very familiar manner.
"Is that a lie?" she asked.
"No. I'm not a trainer. I don't ‘make pokemon battle’ or stuff like that. How can that influence your decision?" you asked while standing up, only to immediately sit back down: your legs felt like ice sculptures.
For the first time since this conversation started, Uxie smiled.
"I have to be sure. I'm a guardian, I can't risk being captured by your kind. Who would protect my lake if I were to leave it to follow a human? What kind of guardian would I be then?" she replied with a hint of proudness in her voice.
You remained silent, suddenly having taken a lot more interest in your really cold legs.
Uxie's smile grew wider as she moved forward, her paw descending towards you as her fingers sank into your sides before the whole hand lifted you up.
"But if you're really not a trainer, human, then I'll be more than willing to help you out." she continued, causing you to become quite flustered.
"You have to believe me, I have never captured a pokemon before! Sure, I saw quite a lot of them, but I never felt the need to catch them!" you cried.
Uxie giggled softly.
"Now now little human, there's no need to be so agitated. I believe you," she said, her words seeming to cause your whole body, soul and mind to let out one massive sigh of relief, which escaped through your open mouth.
Uxie watched you, her smile still wide on her face.
"Does that mean... does that mean you'll help me?" you asked.
"Why, certainly. I said it, you said it, you can't survive in such rough situation. And I won't allow that," Uxie blushed,
"The duty of a guardian isn't just protecting the lake, in my case, but also living beings from danger. And you, my unfortunate friend, are in great danger, like you had been just last night. I'll keep you safe and fed until we - I - manage to figure out a way to reverse your shrinking."
You smiled at the giantess while your cheeks flared up.
"Thank you." you replied in a whisper.
In response, the pixie brought her other paw up to you and grasped you more firmly, before moving you towards her chest.
You found yourself being embraced by the giantess. You felt like you were going on fire, but the hug felt really nice.
At least for the time being, you were safe from most dangers since you were under the protection of a legendary.
Those pokemon were supposed to hold powers with no bounds despite the sizes. Even the most small legendaries could erase mountains with just a mere glance if they only wanted to.
Slowly, Uxie broke the hug and gently lowered you back to your previous perch on the rock.
The bar of chocolate you barely left a mark on earlier levitated back up to your mouth.
"Here, eat some more, you need all the strength possible right now."
You gave the chocolate a few other bites, your teeth barely leaving any visible trace on a single square.
That only gave you an idea of how pathetically small you were.
"Hey Uxie," you called as you pulled back from your ‘meal’,
"You mentioned you've got a lake to protect, no?"
"Correct."
"And you've got to return to it... am I coming along?" you asked, causing the giantess to giggle.
"Silly human, what did I just say? Yes." she replied.
You flushed red.
"When... when are we going?"
This one question took the pixie aback; but she quickly pulled herself together and replied, indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
