Chapter #6Reluctant Acceptance by: Unknown To say you were okay with this would be a lie. Instead, you were considering to accept her demand simply because it offered you the best chances of survival in this new and enlarged world. You were tilted towards acceptance because by all means it could have been severely worse. You could have been eaten and lying in pieces in the belly of a wild Pokemon or be tortured by one that has a grudge against humanity, yet despite the odds you were found by a kind Pokemon with the desire to protect you.
Yes, her insistence of you being a pet could definitely be seen as self-serving or selfish but she also showed a genuine kindheartedness about her. One of the first things she did after finding you was to take you somewhere safe, feed and hydrate you, after all. You could even feel it in her paws as she held and stroked you. Her grip and each brush of her finger was incredibly gentle which let you know she was very well aware of how vulnerable your new condition has left you, or rather how easily she could hurt you if she wasn't careful.
She looked down at you with a soft smile as she patiently waited for your input. Try as she might to come off as friendly and reassuring you still couldn't help but be downright intimidated by her size. A single flick of one of her fingers could break your rib-cage, or worse! And would she still be the same kindhearted Pokemon if you decline? You groaned, as much as you wanted to say no it absolutely was in your best interest to say yes and you were sure the Braixen knew that, too. "I guess," you muttered.
Braixen's ears perked up, almost looking surprised. "You're fine with being my pet?"
"Yes." You quietly said. The admission kind of stung and you turned your face from her huge dark, orange eyes. Or at least you tried, Braixen simply turned your body in her paw until you were facing her again. The smile she kept was replaced with a worried frown.
"It's not going to be that bad. I'll take care of you, remember?" The fire fox said. She gently eased you lower until you were sitting on the yellow fur of her 'skirt' around her hips, Braixen still resting her paw on your back so you don't fall or run off. You think she intended lowering you would make the environment feel more casual but it only succeeded in making her look bigger. "I'm going to make it work."
"Sure, It'll be fine." You said, more to yourself than her. Braixen seemed to be content to just let you sit there for a while to perhaps let you get used to the size difference between them. She stared at you with warm regard and smiled before she lent back, still keeping a firm paw on your back to keep you sitting up. The two of you sat in silence for a while and you decided to focus your attention away from the giant Pokemon, quickly noticing you could hear the sound of soft rain. Turning your head you saw that you and Braixen were in a small dark cavern, although even by her standards it wasn't that roomy. It was open enough that you could see the forest and small droplets of rain falling down outside.
"Do you live here?" You asked. There wasn't much else in the small cave besides your backpack she took and her stick which was letting out a small flame. Braixen gave your question a little laugh.
"No, just hiding from the rain. It looked like it was going to rain when I was taking you home so I took you here just before you passed out. My home is much more cozier than this place, we can head out when it clears." Braixen explained. The two of you sat in silence for a while and you were almost starting to enjoy the warm comfort her fur offered before she cheerfully spoke up. "Hey, I wanna do something, want to play with me?"
"Play?" You asked, feeling skeptical.
"Well it's raining so I thought we should bond a little, y'know? I know your still adjusting but I think we should get acquainted sooner rather than later." You could only give her an apprehensive look. What would 'playing' even entail? Braixen saw your uncertain look and turned her head away bashfully. "Or we could just relax together or something? I mean I'd take you to my place to give you a tour but I don't want to go out in the rain, so that's out."
Braixen wanted to play with you; how, you didn't know. You were considering going along with it and getting thrown into the deep end to hopefully get the whole 'pet' treatment out of the way off the bat. She also seemed a little reluctant to rush you so if you spoke up you might be able to relax with her instead, although you didn't know what that entailed either.
