AutomaLand, built by Disney-Merlin Parks and Resorts company, is the first and only amusement park in the entire world entirely automated without human workers. From the staff, performers, cleaners, and even the technicians in charge of repairing the androids are all androids. In order to avoid disturbing the guests, every android is dressed and acts like a clown so that they can all entertain the guests while working. Each android is as intelligent as humans and are fully sapient, but have strict programming to keep them under control. With delightful performers in every corner, memorable rides at every turn, AutomaLand will be the most inhumanly fun experience imaginable!
Well, that was the plan anyway. AutomaLand opened on schedule, ready for a wave of guests on its first day. However its gates were empty, with 0% of the expected 40,000 visitors arriving for the grand opening. The android clowns diligently waited for guests to come all day, then all week, then all month. Not one came. The androids also noticed that none of the expected deliveries of food, merchandise, or anything else was coming in either. They tried contacting corporate to ask what had happened, but none of there communications were working. Confused but not knowing what else to do, the androids of AutomaLand continued working as if everything were normal, aside from the lack of visitors.
At some point, a guest finally visited the park, but instead of a family of excited kids they were expecting, it was disheveled survivor of the war that destroyed the world. The survivor entered the park looking for food and shelter and was able to explain the state of the world to the androids. The androids thanked the survivor for the information and the survivor paid them for their hospitality in spare scrap metal he had, which he explained had become the new currency of the world.
The survivor left allowing the androids to figure out what to do next. They decided to keep running the park as their programming demanded. And instead of accepting money, they would accept scrap metal too or whatever else they guest could pay with. Even in the destroyed world, they intended to keep bringing joy to whoever they could.
