Chapter #7

Too much bear hug

    by: cheese111 Author IconMail Icon
Simone's panicked struggles were completely drowned out by the amorous werebear as he hugged her ever tighter. Only once he opened his eyes did he see what he had done. His savage strength had crushed his date. Tears flowed from her eyes as she was barely clinging on to life. Chester's eyes shot wide open. How could this have happened? How did he not notice sooner? What had he done? He shifted nervously, drawing a pained gurgle from Simone. Was there anything left he could do?

"Oh no... I'm so sorry Simone... I never should have done this..." He muttered, terrified and sad. He'd never dated a human before, how was he to know they were this fragile? His expression hardened as his thoughts turned to what he would do next. The woman in his arms was in pain. The damage done was too severe and Chester gulped as he realized there was only one thing left for him to do. He would make Simone's final moments as happy as he could.

Carefully the werebear cradled his date, guiding her lips towards his. They met in a passionate kiss. Chester tried to justify Simone's lack of movement by thinking he'd take charge. But it didn't stop the whole thing from being bittersweet. He'd killed the woman who loved him. Now he would make sure it would be painless.

Simone was barely able to discern what was happening anymore, her consciousness fading fast. She felt her date's kiss. It was strangely nice, but got lost amidst the rollercoaster of emotions she felt. All at once she felt angry at his clumsiness, betrayed by his monstrous nature and saddened that his brute strength had caused him to do this. Topping all these feelings was overwhelming numbness, the intense pain suppressed by her adrenaline. She was no medical professional, but she could tell no hospital would be able to save her. Chester held her close to his chest before giving her the last kind gesture he could think of.

The werebear grunted, flexing his muscles and ending his date's suffering. It took no more than a second to snap her spine with a dull crunch. He let out a sigh of relief, happy that her agony was over. He felt embarrassed, guilty that he couldn't control himself. Now his human date was dead. This wasn't supposed to have happened. He'd pictured them living happily together. But if she was this frail, perhaps it was better that he didn't grow too attached just yet. He sat for minutes, feeling Simone's body go cold whilst his inner turmoil played out. At the end of it he set her beside him on the couch and with a weary sigh he prepared to leave. Hopefully future dates wouldn't end this badly.

He looked over his shoulder to Simone one last time. Right at that moment his belly rumbled. The dinner she cooked was nice, but hardly enough to fill a big werebear like him up. And the way she was sitting there, she did look awfully appetizing. It'd be a shame to let her go to waste. "It's what she would've wanted." He muttered to himself as he approached his love one last time, drool leaking from his maw.

Chester left Simone's house with an awkward smile, patting his somewhat swollen belly. He slipped into the dark, pulling out his phone and loading up Monstr. Better luck next date...
