Chapter #5

Michael the Fawn

    by: Unknown
Michael the Fawn had almost everything he would ever hope to want. He had the newest video games along with the newest consoles to play them on. The deer had around five dressers worth of clothes just waiting to be used. He could spend his whole life in the family mansion library, and it still wouldn't be enough time to read all of its books. The kitchen was stocked with enough food to feed well over a hundred people. He was good at school, straight A's all across the card. Everything about Michael's life was what every boy his age would dream about living.

So...why was he so depressed?

The answer was simple: Michael was lonely. While the small deer's parents were willing to buy him anything in the entire world, they were rarely ever around, too busy at work to entertain their child. The mansion was a prison. It was certainly a nice one with opulent decorations and good food, but still, at the end of the day, a prison it was. The great house was almost always empty save for him, and at first, he didn't mind. He liked his solitude and even thrived on it for a while.

But as time went on, Michael began to come to the painful realization that he was truly alone. He began to feel like a trophy kid, awed by his distant parents and tossed away when no one was around. It began to take a toll on his grades, which is the only time when his parents are ever interested in him. They couldn't have a dumb kid, think of the gossip! They hired a psychiatrist, and another and another, and they all said that he needed more time with his parents...which they just couldn't provide.

So, they turned to the private sector for help and came across Melanie. She had a great reputation as both a nanny and a tutor, loved kids and was well recommended by the rest of their peers...she just had one blemish. Her hunger. Michael's parents agreed that as long as they kept a well-stocked kitchen as per the norm, the little Fawn would be fine. If not...well, it wasn't too much of a loss, was it?

It was on Michael's tenth birthday when Melanie came into his life. He was eating a slice of chocolate cake that his parents had sent for him with his breakfast. On the letter, they said that they would have loved to come, but they found the company at the country club to be too good, and that they hoped he would enjoy his birthday present. That last bit caught him off guard, as there was no noticeable present aside from the cake...perhaps they're losing more interest in him than he thought.

Suddenly, the sound of the front door of the great manor being knocked rang out through the halls, catching him by surprise. He instantly hopped down from his seat and began running towards the main foyer of the house. Perhaps his parents were playing a prank on him! Maybe the birthday present this year was them! He was getting his hopes up, and as he opened the heavy, wooden doors...they died out to confusion.

In front of the entrance to his home was not his two deer parents, but a cow, a very fat and kindly looking cow. She was dressed in a black dress with a white trim that was so tight it left nothing to the imagination, along with a ruffled half-apron, a lace headpiece, and long black and white stockings. A classic french maid. The big bovine looked down at the puzzled fawn and gave a wide smile.

“Hello there, master Michael!” She greeted with a curtsy before picking him up gently from the ground to bring his smaller body into a hug. The ten-year-old deer was not sure what was going on, but he felt compelled to return the embrace as it would be rude not to. His face was pressed right into her bosom, which her dress could barely contain, making him red underneath his fur. “My name is Melanie, and I’m your birthday present!”

Michael managed to wiggle his face out of Melanie’s cleavage just enough to take a deep breath of air. “Uh...u-um, it’s very nice to meet you, Ms. Melanie, but...what’s going on, exactly?” He tried to compose himself as the nanny cow stared back at him with wide, expressive eyes. He felt like he could have fallen into them if he wasn't careful. “And how did you know it was my birthday?”

The fat cow smiled and walked inside the lofty building, shutting the door behind her as she carried Michael in her arms like a baby. “Your parents told me that you were feeling a little lonely, So I’m here to make sure you don't ever have to be alone again! You must have felt so small, living in this big, empty house with no one to share it with.” Melanie made a good effort at making him feel small, too. She leaned her face forward to give rub her snout against his nose. “No one deserves to be alone on their birthday…”

Michael was let down back into the seat he was just in earlier, where his plate of food was still sitting. How did she know where the kitchen was? Yet, despite how chaotic and sudden his birthday morning was turning out, he was...strangely optimistic for it. The Fawn was eager to have someone to play with, to hang out with after being alone for so long! He looked up with a smile at his new nanny, who was...busy raiding his pantry. “O-oh, that’s alright, Miss Melanie, I’ve already ate, see?” He gestured to his plate of scrambled eggs, but the cow just giggled.

“Silly deer, this stuff is for me!” Melanie exclaimed as she hauled out several pre-packaged sweats and foodstuffs her her to chow down on. “The first thing I always do when I move into a new mansion is taste the kind of food that you rich folk can afford~" She winked before setting down her feast of purely dessert food on the other side of the kitchen table. Michael barley touched the rest of his food as he witnessed her eat. She was like a black hole, devouring everything down to the last crumb! It was kind of hypnotizing...

Soon, however, she was done with her little meal, little in the context that it barely filled her up, but it would do for a while. "So, what's the first thing you want to do on your special day?" Michael had planned to just laze about the house all day, but with Melanie, his choices of entertainment had skyrocketed. Michael...
