You think a little longer and decide it's probably best to organise some ground rules quickly if you're going to be keeping this book.

"Ok I think we can work something out. I give you permission to leave my side to feed however you on whoever you want on the following conditions. You teach me a way to summon you back to my side whenever I need you. You do not directly affect me without my consent. Lastly, do not reveal yourself to the public. One or two people here and there sounding crazy is fine but nothing that reveals you to rest of the world." You rethink your terms but everything sounds right in your head.

Thelsea pauses for a moment and looks you in the eyes. "Those are the only conditions?"

"Yes. I may introduce more later but I don't want to feel like a slave owner. I prefer to have allies."

"As long as I'm bound to that book I'll always be some form of slave. But I accept your conditions."

You shake her hand to seal the deal. Her skin is unnaturally soft, you can only imagine her hand wrapped around your-

"Ahem? The way to summon me? She breaks you out of your day dream.

"Oh, sorry.. I'm listening."

She picks up the book and passess it to you. "Place your hand on the cover and say my name. I'll come straight to you wherever you are."

And with that, she unfurls her bat like wings and flies off quickly before you can say anything else.
