As Lex Luthor sat in his cell in Stryker's Island Penitentiary, he grumbled over his latest defeat from his nemesis, the Man of Steel known as Superman. Lex snorted. The only thing 'Super' about the lummox was the ridiculous amount of property damage he caused in his 'heroics' and yet the world still loved him.
A sudden flash of light in his cell jogged Lex from his thoughts. The only thing new in the cell was a large black book. On top of the book was a folded paper and a pen.
Curiosity overpowering caution, Lex walked over an picked up the book, note and pen. The note read
To whoever reads these words,
I am a member of a raise of beings known as the Monitors. It is our job to observe and document the infinite realities of the Multiverse.
However while my colleagues are more concerned about making sure that the hero always wins and the villains always lose, I am not.
To that end i have begun to aid villains by bestowing upon them the power to alter reality to the whim and get the upper hand. As you might have realised by now, that means you have been recognised as a villain of your reality, and so this book is your means of alteration.
Anything you write in this book will imeditely become reality once you finish a sentence with a full stop. You will be the only one who remembers the old reality although you will gain memories of the new one you create.
Good Luck and Enjoy,
The Anti-Monitor.
Lex snorted again in disbelief before figuring that he had nothing to lose. He opened the book and with the pen wrote
Lex Luthor is President of the United States
Immediately, the cell he was in faded away and was replaced by the Oval Office. His prison uniform changed to one of his expensive suits. Lex laughed as he realised it was real. 'It actually worked.' he thought to himself.
He then grinned evilly as he thought of his next idea
