At least a week ago, Isabella had invited her family to join her on a hike within a secluded if not uncharted area in coastal Central America. Her husband and younger daughter remain intrigued to what the world had to offer. However, not everyone saw it that way.
"I don't see why we had to come along with you to the middle of nowhere," Sofia complains, wishing that she can finally go home and get back to being with her friends at school. Before the school year had even started, Isabella had enlisted her and her sister Maya to be home-schooled so the family can accompany her around the world, which leaves very little room for any sort of social life. Sometimes, she didn't know how everyone else can remain so enthusiastic, even if their priorities were clearly elsewhere.
"Aww! Don't be a sourpuss," Isabella fake-pouted.
"Your mother has been working really hard to accompany us for this trip," the father Miguel lightly scolds her daughter. "Just try to have some fun with it, okay?"
"Besides, we may be on to something here." Isabella opens a map she kept with her and continues pacing while keeping her eyes on the directions. "According to ancient legend, this is where the elusive and mythical 'Fountain of Youth' is rumored to take place. Even a single sip of the water there is said to rejuvenate months if not years of your life."
"Ooh!" Maya squeals with interest. Sofia just rolls her eyes. "So it can make grown-ups into little kids?"
"That's how the story goes," Isabella nods, still having her eyes on the map. "Now we just got to be careful. It's really easy to lose your step around he-."
