Elliot had to be taken home from elementary school soon after he had lunch. He didn't say much and had developed a nasty fever. His mother tried to get answers from the school on whether it is was from something her son ate, but she didn't get any contextual information.Having been led to the conclusion that Elliot simply had the flu, she let her son get some rest in his room. She wondered if she should contact a doctor or if the illness would eventually go away on its own. She told her husband about what happened and told Elliot's little sister to stay away from her brother's room, though she didn't mention why to her.
