Harry had a strange existence. He was a mere 4-week-old baby, and already his life was quite abnormal. His father, Steve, is a renowned scientist that specializes in obesity and as such, he was quite excited for his first child, a baby boy. This was because his baby boy would also be a lifelong test subject.
Steve's wife Laura was enamored with her husband's work as a scientist, so both parents agreed that Steve could use his son Harry for their weight gain experiments. Even before Harry's birth, Steve was tinkering. Harry's conception was not a natural one, as Steve had spliced Harry's genes, testing a genetic code that he thought would maximize Harry's ability to create and store fat.
At Harry's birth, he was a normal happy healthy baby boy with a tuft of sandy brown hair. Steve had made his own milk formula that he planned to feed Harry instead of mother's milk. The formula itself was intended to mimic all of the nutrients in mother's milk and have more than double the fat. In practical use, it would serve as milk for starving babies that would keep them full longer, but in this case, it would only serve to fatten up Harry more.
As it stood, Harry had spent the first four weeks of his life drinking this experimental milk in normal doses in place of his mother's milk. He lived in his parent's house as a normal child would, however, the experiments had already affected him quite a bit. He was around 20 pounds, which was about double what babies his size should be. He had big, puffy cheeks, and a huge belly the size of a basketball. Any time he moved his little arms and legs, his fat would wobble about. Despite all that, he had picture-perfect health. His crib was reinforced in anticipation of how much he would grow, and his mobile had little figures of fast food instead of stars or animals. He was a giggly baby and loved to babble a lot.
Either way, given his weight, he cried for food a lot more than the usual baby even as he got fed a full meal. Steve saw how happy and healthy his baby was, so he felt comfortable starting to try something new. Today, he was going to... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
