This was the tag line of the motivational video you had just bought online. You saw an add for it browsing the web and strangely it had a near flawless review record. Thousands of people claiming it changed their lives forever.
Normally you were never the kind of person to buy into this sort of thing but right now your life was probably at its lowest moment ever.
Your name is Thomas Floyd. Until recently you worked at a center until a new program was developed that made many jobs obsolete. You were unfortunately let go from the company with barely any severance to keep yourself going.
Now unemployed your girlfriend decided she could do better and broke up with you. To make matters worse you discovered she is actually dating your older brother Nathan, who is a successful marketing manager at a huge company.
You spent weeks in a deep depression wondering why this had to happen to you. Was it fate or did the universe just hate you? Either way it seemed like you were the unluckiest guy in the world.
Finally a friend of yours Zach, got you off your couch and back into the world. This hardly helped however as your depression made it near impossible to find another job or find the motivation to do much of anything.
This video seemed like a last resort. You didn’t expect much of anything, but at this point you were desperate enough to try anything.
You took out the disc and plugged it into your entertainment system and turned on your tv. As you watched you were a bit surprised as a loud bright display appeared on your TV followed by text.
“Please use your remote to select and navigate from the following options.” It said first as you grabbed the remote.
The next thing you heard was the voice of a female announcer, her voice was loud but also gentle, like a talk show host.
“Greetings! Congratulations on making this important step in changing your life forever. My name is Jane and I will be your guide through this amazing transformation. By the end of this video your life will be forever changed in ways you never expected. Now let us begin...First off, tell me about your self. Are you Male or Female?” The voice of Jane asked.
Letters appeared on the screen as the choices for Male or Female appeared.
You were about to choose male, it was the obvious answer. However maybe it would be funnier to choose female? You never know?
