Brad mingled with the other cows and began eating some grass. Being a primate was odd, but at least he had a similar frame to a human. It was odd having no hands and walking on all fours. He swatted a fly with his tail after it landed on his rump.
He wasn’t sure if Karen would recognize him or not since their cows all had very similar patterns. He wasn’t exactly sure what kind of mood Karen would be in once the mental adjustments wore off.
“I’m the only cow without a tag, so I’ll be easy to spot.”, thought Brad as he noticed the herd moving toward the barn. “It guess I’m about to be hooked up to the machines. This couldn’t get any weirder.”
Brad lagged behind the other cows and was one of the last cows to enter. He had just entered the gate as Julie walked up to him and and pat his head. “Looks like she’s the one who lost her tag. I’ll go grab a fresh one from the office.”, said the young female farm hand as she wandered off.
10 minutes later, Julie arrived with a tagger and clipped one of the bright yellow tags to Brad’s ear. “There you go cutie! You must be one of the new arrivals when I was out last week. I haven’t given you a proper name yet.”
Brad wiggled his ear and felt the new tag flop around. “Shit, now I really am part of the herd. Karen might not be able to find me without my help.”, thought Brad as the thought of being stuck as a cow for a few days made him a little uncomfortable. “At least I still have my wits. It will be easy enough to get Karen’s attention when she comes looking for me.”
Julie ushered the new cow to one of the milking stations and hooked her up. “You look like you’re ready to burst there girl! That’s some udder you have there. Let’s relieve some of that pressure.”
Brad felt the cold metal attachments as they latched onto his udder. Moments later, he felt the machine begin to drain his very full udder. The feeling was surprisingly pleasant and he just relaxed as the euphoric feeling washed over him.
“April. That’s a good name for you.”, said Julie as she pat Brad’s head. “I’ll see you around April.”
“Could be a lot worse.”, thought Brad. “This isn’t so bad and I’m sure Karen will be in a better mood tomorrow.” Brad hadn’t seen Karen at all today and it was starting to get late. He was getting the hang of his new body, and was actually kind of enjoying his second break from humanity and now that he thought of it, his gender as well.
