There are two scenarios where you are a human pulled from your world:

You are a human mercenary that Grogar summons to replace King Sombra, along with your two "assistants" Kayla and Audrey.1

Or, you are a human turned alicorn who has been exiled by the princesses with your wings clipped...i.e. disproportionate retribution. Of course when Grogar gives you the suggestion demand to join his alliance, you jump at the chance.
