Okay, then. How about this story?
Bradley Stephen Hunter had just turned five years old and was beginning Kindergarten. Two and a half years ago, Brad had made friends with an American boy named Ryan McHiggins, a Jewish girl named Alice Finklemeyer, an Irish boy named Luke, and an African-American boy named Winston. The five toddlers often played with each other and were usually there for each other. Brad was brave and often stood up for his friends when they were being picked on, most notably by Butch, a bigger, stronger, meaner kid who had a reputation for being a bully. Butch hated babies, but delighted in picking on them.
Ryan, Alice, Luke, and Winston all had minor difficulties in being potty-trained because they were all too eager to become big kids so they wouldn't be teased by Butch. Brad, however, was a hyperactive toddler who didn't always like having to stop playing to use the bathroom. He usually felt he had better things to do with his time than sit on a potty. As a result, he had the most difficulties in being potty-trained, and was the last among his circle of friends. It didn't help that his parents both had different approaches when it came to potty-training him. His father, Stephen, was eager to get him potty-trained so he wouldn't have to change any more diapers, while Ashley, his mother, preferred that he learn at his own pace. As the years passed, Brad had physically outgrown his old diapers, and as there wasn't a lot of demand for bigger diapers due to most children being potty-trained around the age of three, not many stores sold them.
Eventually, Brad would be starting kindergarten. This kindergarten was a special one which only accepted students who were toilet-trained, didn't have potty accidents, and wore underwear instead of diapers. As Ryan, Alice, Luke, and Winston had all been potty-trained and wearing big-kid underwear for two years, they were easily accepted into it. Brad didn't want to be left out of this kindergarten because that meant he wouldn't be with his friends, so he reluctantly agreed to be potty-trained if he was going to attend it. Brad didn't enjoy having to use the potty, but his friends and family were all proud of him for making a very grown-up decision. At long last, Brad was potty-trained and wearing big-boy underwear, and joining his friends in kindergarten, but old habits die hard, and he was still prone to the occasional accident. He was worried that if he did have an accident, he would get kicked out of kindergarten and not be with his friends.
