The villain had big plans for this universe. For this galaxy, really, and the Andromeda galaxy next to it. He wanted to take all the females of each species and make them his, in addition to the named characters. But to do that, he had to make sure that there was a galaxy to save.
So as his opening move, he snapped his fingers and made every single Reaper and Husk dissolve into nothingness, silently grateful that the Husks had no souls, that the victims used to make them had already moved on. And with the purge of all Reaper technology, indoctrinations were cured as well. The Illusive Man nearly killed himself in horror as he realized what he almost did.
The galaxy, so very ready for war, could only stare in numb shock as this godlike being came out of nowhere and annihilated the Reapers in literally a gesture.
"And for my next trick..." He snapped his fingers again. Diseases vanished, and suddenly Turians, Quarians, and other such species could eat the food of their neighbors, and vice versa. No DNA differences preventing it here, no sir.
The villain chuckled as he sensed the media buzz on all the various planets. He thought about his next move, and started walking. In space.
