"I need your help with a few chores around the house Sammy." Shannon explained.
"Oh. Is that it? Alright." You nodded. Mentally, you breathed a sigh of relief. Deep inside, you had been afraid that your mom was going to ask you to do something ridiculous, or potentially dangerous. However, helping her out with some chores was hardly a life-threatening situation. Right?
"I have a few things on my schedule today. Firstly, I need to collect my dirty clothes, and Stacy's dirty clothes, and then take them to the basement and run them through the washing machine. Afterwards, I can let them air dry outside. Secondly, I need to clean our bathroom. It's gotten to be a bit of a mess. There's gunk all over the place, the tub is dirty, and the toilet has a few kinda gross stains.
"Lastly, I need to put my awesome cooking skills to the test." Shannon beamed. "You know my good friend Vivi? Her birthday is tomorrow, but she invited my over to a party at her house tonight to celebrate. Apparently there are going to be a lot of people there. To surprise her, I wanted to bake a giant chocolate cake and bring it with me tonight. Think you could help me with the baking? It shouldn't be tough with the two of us working side-by-side!"
"That's a lot of chores." You sighed.
"Well, we can tackle them in any order. We'll start with whatever chore you want to do first!"
You could tell your mother was leaving the decision up to you, so you pondered which chore to tackle first. Hopefully you could just knock these chores out one by one, and nothing would go wrong today. Of course, when was life ever that kind to you?
