That was definitely an odd thing, wasn't it? Facebook rarely sent any mail to you and whatever nonsense it did try and shove in your face was usually filtered out by the spam blocker. So to have an email from them was a bit of an oddity.

True enough, the email contained a colorfully animated request to participate in the aptly named "Soulmate Simulator". A cursory skimming of the written blurb confirmed your suspicions. It seemed like the usual procedural generated crap they usually tried to peddle at you from the ads that showed up on Facebook while you browsed. That being said, it looked pretty official compared to some of the "quiz" sites that advertised such useful things like Horoscopes and "WHAT ANIMAL ARE YOU!?". "Congratulations, ALEX! You've been selected to participate in the SOULMATE SIMULATOR! This new app provides a new way to get closer to that special someone in your life! Simply select another person and let the magic happen! Take a step on the other side and experience a CHANGE IN PERSPECTIVE!"
The page was primarily dominated by two large white squares, one of which held your current scowling profile pic while the other was blank. Presumably this was for your "SOULMATE" as described by the "instructions".
Staring at it for a moment, you actually found yourself contemplating giving it a try. Theoretically, it couldn't hurt, could it? The antivirus program hadn't picked up anything on it and it looked pretty official...
Ah, what the hell. You had nothing better to do, right?
