If you still had hair on the back of your neck it would be raising at the sound of your concerned mother. And to think, just a few blessedly short minutes ago she had been yelling at you to get out of bed that morning. She was unwelcome now and she was then.
"It's nothing, mom," you said as you grasped the sink while your hair settled into its new length. "I just slipped on some soap is all."
You gasped as you held your throat. The voice that had escaped your lips was not yours at all, it sounded too high and bubbly. Almost like...Almost like...You were turning into a woman! The label on the shampoo was telling the truth and not just giving you an insane hair job and crazily moisturized skin to match! It was actually transforming you into a redheaded girl!
It went quiet on the other side of the door as your mom was no doubt processing what she had heard.
"Alex," she started. "Did you use my shampoo I left in there?"
"No," you lied as you clutched the bathroom sink tighter.
It was getting harder and harder to breathe, and you had to take deeper and deeper breaths. You felt a crack in your ribs as it seemed like your lungs were collapsing in on themselves, only that wasn't the case when you looked in the mirror. You watched in horror as your sides were concaving, giving your torso a distinctly female shape. You felt weaker as you looked down at your hands. They were shrinking, become more slender and daintier in size. That spread quickly to the rest of your arms as they lost their toned muscle and got skinnier and twig like.
You were scared. So many changes were happening to you so fast, and they should have felt painful. But something was numbing the gross decay of your muscle and bone structure as your entire upper body shrunk in size. You felt your spine drop a notch and then two, causing you to lose several inches in height. There was still your legs to go.
You did the only thing you could think of in this situation and called out to your mom.
"What's happening to me?" you asked, no longer caring that you sounded like a girl. "Who am I turning into?"
