Just as Christian reassured to himself that no one was home and went to test his ray, Carrie had entered the house alongside Lauren and Julia. She had the day off of work while Mark was still there, so she took her two daughters to do a couple quick errands. They both had plans that evening so agreed to accompany their mom, while she wanted to get everything on her to-do list done before spending the rest of the time being laid back with some light cleaning. They were intending to only stop by the house for a bit before heading back out.
However, after only being in the house for less than a minute, before they had time to even let their presence known, the three women felt a chill in their bodies. "What's going on--" Julia started only to be caught off guard as all their bodies plummeted towards the ground, causing them all to scream simultaneously.
Regaining consciousness, Carrie shook her head, with her butt flat on the floor, turning to her daughters. "Is everyone okay?" she worriedly asks. Lauren was lying on her stomach a few feet away from her, while Julia was lying on her back a bit behind her, both moaning in pain. Carrie went over to help Julia up, and started to walk over to get Lauren before the two stopped dead in their tracks.
Lauren ended up picking herself up, feeling like she just had a case of one of her usual hangovers, and wondering if that was some sort of earthquake they got caught in, until she looked and saw her mother and sister staring completely frozen with terrifying looks on their face. She turned to see what they were looking at, and became face to face with what should be the first step of the stairs, only it now towered over all of them.
"Where the hell are we??" Julia panicked, "I-I think we're still in the house sweetie..." Carrie responded trying to her assure her daughter. Lauren approached the stair, knocking on it to make sure this wasn't a dream before replying, "I think we just got shrunk." Carrie was met with a face of absolute disbelief, Lauren was mostly confused, and Julia was scared, holding tightly to her mom holding back tears.
"How...just...why did this happen...what are we gonna--" "Calm down, it'll be okay...I think" Julia started to worry some more before Carrie replied back. "Christian's still in the house. Either we find him and he can help us, or if he got caught in the same situation as us, then we'll go to help him." "But how are we gonna get to him?" Lauren replied back, as the three craned their necks up high at the stairs. Climbing it was doable at their size, but it would probably take a long while.
Before Carrie was able to answer, they were suddenly caught off guard by a knock at the door, causing them to jump and face the front door at the long end of the hallway they stood on. The door proceeded to open as in entered:
