Randall Peterson sat upstairs in his room, gaming headset on as he was lost in another gaming session while he watched his favorite streamer on his second monitor. She was a beauty who went by Sapphire. Randy had long been a follower of hers and had a crush on her since his junior year of high school.
Randy was experiencing his own problem however. He had just turned 19. He graduated high school almost a year ago and still wasn’t doing anything with his life.
He wasn’t going to college or looking for a job. He was content just staying at home playing video games and watching streamers.
While to other this might just look like someone who was unmotivated or lazy. The Truth was Randall hated himself right now for this lifestyle.
Randy got good grades in high school. He had colleges accept him. He was smart and clever and had job opportunities as well. Randy was great with technology and computers and the IT industry was calling him.
However none of this stopped him from being terrified of the real world. Terrified of failure. All of this boiled down to his history with his father.
As a kid Randy’s dad always tried to be a so called “self made man.” Randy’s dad George ran his own Auto repair shop for years. His mother Mary was the accountant who kept the books.
However when he was 10 years old George started to make risky business decisions. Things he thought would pay off but in the end cost George everything including his business. Unable to face the shame of his failures one night George decided to take his own life…
Randall never got over losing his father like that. He found himself paralyzed with fear of failure. What if he tries and fails? He never wanted to experience that same feeling his dad did. Better to stay safe and hidden. If you never try you can’t fail right?
Deep down Randy knew this was not what he wanted. However as the months have dragged in he is finding it harder and harder to break from this routine.
His mother has tried everything to help him. Nothing seems to work. She wants nothing more than to see her son succeed in life.
Fortunately Mary discover a self help therapist named Lucy Wong. Some say it’s like magic the way she is able to change her client’s lives.
