A figure emerged from the darkness, a long black cloak obscuring their face as Claire put out their cigarette.
"I've been very stressed lately," Claire said. "Is it safe to assume you're Sweet Tooth?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Indeed I am," they said in a deep and distorted voice as they approached. "Thank you for responding to my email. Wasn't sure anyone would take me up on my offer."
"Well as a journalist, I have to explore every avenue I can take," Claire said as she walked up to them.
The figure looked left and right to make sure the coast is clear before handing Claire a rather large file as Claire took it in hand. "Keep that file close to you at all times. A lot of the staff and those affiliated with the company would do all they can to get that info." Sweet Tooth spoke. They then started walking backward before a car passed in front of them. Soon as it was gone, Sweet Tooth had also vanished. Claire was a bit perplexed but decided to just get in her car and drive home with the file.
Upon getting home, Claire immediately read over a number of important documents inside the file. She found a number of different angles she could work with when it came to getting out info on the company.
The first was the fact that the products they were selling not only contained a number of strange chemicals that seemed to react strangely with the human body but also caused addictive behavior in anyone who partakes of them.
The second angle was the fact that a number of taste testers would disappear after about a week of working at the factory in order to perfect their new candies. A possible conspiracy to keep people from discovering the factory's secrets.
The last angle had to do with the company's owner, Elena Exco. Comparing a couple of pictures, Claire had noticed that Elena had gone through a number of changes since she took charge. Going from a frail nerd to a dynamic bombshell. There was also the fact of her family's mysterious deaths. Possibly a past plot to claim the factory for herself.
There were many ways Claire could approach this, but for the moment, her main focus turned to...
