She "borrows" a device from Tails

It was a peaceful day for Amy Rose. She had planned to go with Sonic to the chao garden in Mystic Ruins, but as usual he was a no-show. Although annoyed, Amy had also grown somewhat resigned to this behavior from him. Sometimes she would think to herself, "Maybe if I was prettier..." but would always cut herself off before finishing the thought. That kind of thinking was just unproductive.

And so, she spent the day on her own with the chaos, making the best of the situation. Indeed, she was having so much fun that she had completely lost track of time, not even realizing how late at night it was until the sky was dark.

Amy considered herself strong and independent, still she didn't like the idea of venturing back to the train station through the darkened jungle. And so, she found herself at the workshop Tails had stationed there. It was unlikely she would find him there, she knew, but the trip there was much shorter and safer than the one to the station, and if Tails was there he could give her a lift home in the Tornado. It was worth a shot.

Unfortunately, though not surprisingly however, Amy found the place completely empty. She easily got inside, knowing where Tails tended to stash the spare key, but upon entering found the place dark and coated in a layer of dust.

Still intimidated by the outdoors, Amy decided that it wouldn't hurt to just stay the night. And thus she found herself exploring the lab, where all manner of prototypes and experiments sat abandoned. One in particular caught her eye...
