Sudden encounter!

You proved to be indecisive when Leaf casually passed you by and walked out of the gym satisfied with her new badge. Just like that, one of the doors of opportunity that were wide open for you had closed, much like the automatic doors of Jasmine’s gym.
You felt yourself collapse to your knees as you started down at the floor with despair in your eyes when you realized that your winning odds had decreased drastically. While you still had Jasmine as an option, it would’ve helped out so much to call out to Leaf as well. Having multiple options is way better than having one disappear forever. What a blunder.
But hey, look at the bright side: you still had Jasmine, and she would definitely help you out if you were to ask her. She really is just that kind. So maybe there is still hope for you after all.
“Chi....chika?” Chikorita spoke sounding confused. Your head shot back up immediately when you hear the sound.
It seems that Chikorita was still here inside the gym for some reason. Did she lock herself in by not going through the automatic doors fast enough? But that doesn’t make sense since the doors should work for pokemon too, so what’s the deal?
“Chika?” Chikorita cries again now with more curiosity. You didn’t have a clue what she was curious about. If anything, you should be curious about why she was still here. That was until you realized who she was speaking too.
“........m-me?” You said pointing to yourself, which only piqued her interest. You had now realized that Chikorita was starting at you, unable to understand what she was seeing. You felt yourself starting to get cold sweat while Leaf went back into the gym when she also realized Chikorita didn’t follow her.
“Hey Chikorita, you can’t stay behind like that, we need to get to the next gym.” Leaf said gently to Chikorita as she kept starting at you. “Is something the matter?” Jasmine asked checking to see if something was wrong. “No nothing, Chikorita just gets distracted easily. Come on girl, let’s go.” Leaf said not thinking much of her behavior. At least you now you know that her trusty companion was female.
“Chika!” she cried out before running into your direction. You have been spotted! You instantly fell into a panic as you quickly scrabbled for a way to escape. You first tried to run into the open but you got halted when Chikorita leaped in front of you to block your path and that was all she wrote when you quickly found yourself cornered, as she slowly kept walking to you closer and closer.
“Hey! What are you doing?” Leaf said, with it being her turn to be confused. “I’ll see if i can help.” Jasmine responded to the commotion. You reckoned that she was coming here as well since you could feel the ground shaking with each step she took. Not that it matters right now, you need to keep eye on the most immediate threat!
Looks like you didn’t think too much about what you were going to do if had gotten the attention of someone since you were cowering in fear when faced with one. While normally cute looking, due to the size differences, Chikorita’s presences became intimidating and bone chillingly scary up close as she looked down at your small body. You held tightly onto your heart as you felt the green titan coming closer and cornering you even further. Is this really it? The end? You didn’t even come close to finding Mew and your journey ends here along with your life?!
Left without any options, you just sat there, staring at the Chikorita that was going to decide your fate. In the end....
