The Hypnotist decided to test out some of the other features of his Hypnosis Gun. And Yang, still looking determined that no one would be hypnotized that night, would make an excellent test subject for the single target settings. But first...
"All right, folks! We're going to try some of the other settings on this thing!" he announced to the audience. "And first up will be a longer lasting effect setting! This setting will keep a person entranced without me having to hold the trigger down the entire time!"
He took aim at Yang once again. "Ready to experience hypnosis again, my dear?"
Yang snorted. "Yeah, right. Like I keep saying, there's no way that you can hypnotize me with that guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhh...." Her voice trailed off as the Hypnotist pulled the trigger on the gun. Her eyes glazed over once more as her mind went completely blank. The only difference from the last time was that the Hypnotist had lowered the gun and removed his finger from the trigger.
"As you can see, I'm not pointing this at Yang anymore, yet she is still in a mindless trance," the Hypnotist explained to the onlookers. "In this state, I can program her mind with several hypnotic triggers."
"What are those?" Ruby asked.
"That's a great question," the Hypnotist told her. "A hypnotic trigger is basically a word I can give a hypnotized subject that will activate an action whether the subject is in a trance or not. For example, if I told Yang in this state that she would give a salute every time a bell rings, she would do it even after I wake her up."
Ruby snickered at the thought. "That's so cool."
"But for now, we'll let Yang stay like this while we test some more features on this gun." The Hypnotist fiddled with the dials on the gun. "Let's see...how about a slower entrancement setting?" He aimed the gun around at the three remaining girls, finally settling on Blake, who was sitting next to Yang. "How about it, my dear?"
Blake shrugged. "If you say so."
"Fantastic. Now, just try to relax." The Hypnotist pulled the trigger and held it down, still pointed at Blake. However, Blake didn't seem to be falling like Yang had.
"Nothing happened," Ruby noted.
"Just wait," the Hypnotist told her. "It's at a lower setting, so it'll take a little longer than Yang. Isn't that right, Blake? You're feeling it, aren't you?"
"Y--yeah," Blake agreed, her voice starting to quiet as she began to slump a little bit. "It's like an incredible warmth washing over me. It feeeeels soooo gooood." Her voice was starting to slur as she seemed to slip further.
"That's good to hear, Blake. And you should be falling completely in three...two...one...now." At the Hypnotist's words, Blake fully slumped over, her head resting on Yang's shoulder, her eyes half closed.
"What's your name, my dear?" the Hypnotist asked her.
"Blake..." Blake answered after a second.
"Blake, be a dear and remain in this trance when I stop firing my hypnosis gun at you." The Hypotist lowered the gun, with Blake following the suggestion she had been given. With two down, the Hypnotist turned to Ruby and Weiss. "And now, for you two, I'll be using a wider beam two entrance both of you at once."
Weiss scoffed. "Both of us at once? I don't know about thaaaaaaaaaaaaa..." As she spoke, the Hypnotist turned a dial and aimed the gun at both remaining girls. When he pulled the trigger, both Ruby and Weiss froze as their minds instantly emptied of all thought. Weiss eventually trailed off as her blank eyes stared back at the gun, while Ruby's jaw slackened, leaving her mouth hanging open with no trace of any sort of thought in her head.
The Hypnotist turned back to the Audience. "Give them a round of applause, everyone!" The audience obliged him, not that any of the girls on stage could hear it. As the applause died down, the Hypnotist was already planning his next move.
